Jacopo Pagin

Based in Brussels

Jacopo Pagin is an Italian artist based in Brussels. Working across painting, drawing, and mixed media installation, Pagin engages with historical techniques to reflect on the uncertainties and contradictions of contemporary life. His practice explores themes of time, nostalgia, and collective memory, often employing mirrored imagery, repetition, and surreal elements to examine dualities—such as past and present, control and chaos, perception and reality.

Pagin’s work blurs the line between the organic and the artificial, the visible and the invisible, challenging narratives of linear progress and prompting deeper reflection on the myths of modernity. Through layered references and poetic imagery, he invites viewers to engage with the hidden complexities beneath everyday experiences.

Recent solo exhibitions include Hidden Place at Public Gallery, London (2024); Strategies Against Time at Pond Society, Singapore (2022); Roaring Shelters and Fata Morgana at Make Room, Los Angeles (2022). He has also exhibited at Make Room (Los Angeles), Pavillon Southway (Marseille), and Pond Society (Shanghai), among others.

Group exhibitions include The Descendants, K11 Foundation, Hong Kong (2023); Uncanny Depths, MAMO, Marseille (2022); Machines of Desire, Simon Lee Gallery, London (2022); I Dwell in Possibility, SPURS Gallery, Beijing (2022); and Anima Mundi at Manifesta 13, Marseille. His work is held in public collections including the Zhi Art Museum (Chengdu) and Pond Society (Shanghai), and has been featured in Artnet, Office Magazine, and Art Viewer.
