House of CoHit is pleased to announce Imagined Realities and Unreal Fantasies, a group exhibition curated by Alaia Parhizi, opening on April 10, 2026. The exhibition proposes a focused look at how artists use figurative work to explore personal mythology and experience, bringing together six contemporary voices whose practices engage with the dialogue between intimate narratives and the imaginative.

Imagined Realities and Unreal Fantasies traces the boundary between the internal and external world, balancing tangible truths with the subconscious. Inspired in part by the domestic architecture of the gallery, the artworks are selected to interact with and reflect upon this intimate setting, considering how the figure serves as a vessel for both private observation and fantastical construction. Through various figurative approaches, the show invites viewers to move between parallel streams of reality, asking: where do our personal histories end and our fantasies begin?

Together the artists embody the dualities at the core of the exhibition, guiding visitors through an installation that shifts from the deeply personal to the fantastical, from intensity to stillness.

Special Events:
Artist Talk: Sunday, April 26th, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Closing Art Performance: (May 15th)

About the Curator:

Alaia Parhizi is a curator and artist based in Los Angeles. The title of this exhibition, Imagined Realities and Unreal Fantasies, is drawn from a poem within Parhizi’s song "Telepathy," released in 2018, reflecting a long-standing interest in how the boundary between internal and external worlds is navigated through language and art. Parhizi’s curatorial approach centers on intimacy, storytelling, and creating exhibitions that resonate on both personal and communal levels. This exhibition continues that trajectory, offering a space for reflection while affirming a commitment to shaping exhibitions that feel urgent, accessible, and deeply human.
