Christine Olowonira

Based in New York

Christine Olowonira is a first-generation Nigerian American artist, designer, and founder of Cocoerow Fine Jewelry, a sculptural maison where jewelry becomes art and legacy. Guided by a reverence for her Yoruba heritage, her work explores the language of form, emotion, and symbolism, revealing how gold, stone, and shape can carry the weight of story. Before founding Cocoerow, she worked with global maisons such as Valentino, Celine, and Oscar de la Renta, experiences that honed her eye for restraint and elegance while deepening her belief that luxury is most powerful when it holds meaning. Through her independent study in gem sourcing, art & design, and responsible goldsmithing, Olowonira forges a world where adornment is not decoration but declaration, a reflection of strength, ancestry, and the bold beauty of becoming.
