Affsoongar (meaning enchanter in Farsi) is a narrative alter ego that channels the figure of a rebellious, seductive Persian woman to challenge conventional belief systems. Through this character, the work constructs a counter-myth—bold, intimate, and defiant—where taboo and tradition are confronted through poetic symbolism.

Set within the natural world, Affsoongar’s figures embody a balance of vulnerability and resilience. Trees, like women, are fragile yet essential—enduring harm and regenerating with strength. The recurring motif of the naked female body, unshielded and unashamed, echoes a reimagined Eve—one stripped of shame, fig leaf, and silence.

Affsoongar evokes a vision of womanhood rooted in pre-patriarchal power, reconnecting with ancestral strength while resisting imposed narratives. Her scars are not signs of weakness, but symbols of survival, transformation, and a radical reclamation of the self.
